Passage Notes participates in affiliate programmes with selected travel partners. This means that some links on this site are affiliate links - when you click through and make a booking or purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
Affiliate partnerships may include, but are not limited to: hotel booking platforms, travel experience providers, transport booking services, and travel-related products.
Editorial independence
Our editorial content is never influenced by affiliate relationships. Every recommendation on this site is based on genuine personal experience and honest assessment. We do not accept payment for positive reviews, and affiliate partners have no input into what we write or recommend.
If we recommend a hotel, a route, or a service, it is because we have used it and believe it is worth your time and money. If we have reservations about something, we say so - even if it is an affiliate partner.
How affiliate links work
When you click an affiliate link on Passage Notes, a small tracking cookie may be placed on your device by the affiliate partner. If you go on to make a purchase within a certain time window (typically 24 hours to 30 days, depending on the partner), we receive a commission. The price you pay is exactly the same whether you use our link or go directly to the provider.
Why we use affiliate links
Affiliate income helps support the ongoing research, writing, and maintenance of Passage Notes. Travel writing requires actual travel - flights, hotels, transfers, meals - and affiliate revenue contributes to making that sustainable.
Identifying affiliate links
Affiliate links on this site typically appear within "Patrick's Pick" recommendation boxes or as "Check availability" links alongside hotel and experience recommendations. We aim to make it clear when a link is an affiliate link.
